We are very excited by the announcement that our books are now on the Reading Well Books on Prescription list for Dementia, announced in January 2015.
This means that virtually every library in England now has the books available for people to borrow, and everyone can now access them for free. This will be a huge boost to those carers who are struggling to find high quality and effective resources to use with those with mid to later stage dementia.
The Reading Well Books on Prescription dementia scheme provides accredited reading and book based support for those with dementia and their carers. All the books on the list have been selected by dementia healthcare experts as well as people with dementia and their carers.
So if your relative or friend with dementia hasn’t yet tried any of the Pictures to Share books, make sure you visit your local library and borrow some for them to have a look at. You may be surprised by the results. If you would like to purchase our books please click here
The Reading Well Books on Prescription scheme is delivered by the Reading Agency in partnership with the Society of Chief Librarians with funding from the Arts Council England. The scheme is endorsed by leading health partners and delivered by public libraries.
